  1. THE LION AND THE MOUSE 

   There was a lion. He was asleep. 
A mouse ran up him. He woke up. 
He caught it.
   It begged for mercy.  It would 
help him one day.  The lion let him 
go. He laughed. 
   One day the lion fell into a snare. 
The mouse came to him. It cut the 
snare. The lion was free.

   2. THE FOX AND THE GOAT 

   A fox fell into a well. He tried to 
get out. He failed. 
   A goat looked in. The fox spoke 
about the cool sweet water. He 
asked the goat to come down and 
have a nice drink. 
   The foolish goat jumped into the 
well. The fox jumped on its body. 
He jumped out of the well.  He ran 
away.
