Holi is a very popular festival in India. It is celebrated on falgun paurnima. It falls in the month of March. people gather firewood, twigs and dry grass on that day. They stand a silk - cotton tree and arrange the firewood and the dry grass around it. At night they set fire to it.
It is a big fir. People worship the fire. women offer flowers and coconuts to Holi and move round in circles. Boys and men shout loudly and women sing devotional songs. There are different legends about Holi festival.
The day after the Holi is a day of great joy. People splash colour and coloured water at one another. They saing songs. This colour splashing is called ' Dhulwad'. People have a lot of fun. Indeed, it is the festival of
Colours. I like it very much.
